About emma

The European Mobile Messaging Association (emma) was formed initially under the name of EPPA in January 1994 and now has 13 corporate members across 7 countries, including Australia, Europe and the USA.

At a meeting in Helsinki in 2005 emma combined with the UK's Wireless Messaging Association (WMA) to form an association with more strength. At the same time Australian and USA based organisations also joined emma.

One of our goals is to "To create a forum for enterprises engaged in the paging business, anywhere in the world, to discuss with their peers the issues that affect them" and so to turn emma into a truly global organisation.

emma and the American Association of Paging Carriers (AAPC) have forged strong links and will work together to create an environment in which the members of both associations will find it easier to operate and innovate.
